ABOUT

- Elio (Echo is fine too)
- Malaysian; Asian+indigenous
- Adult
- trans and queer ; he/him only
- tired ALL the time but always have the time to scream about everything from fave things to my rapidly-expanding repertoire of ocs (oops)

RUNDOWNS

- i talk about wolships a (not) normal amount. I dunno what it is about this game, but I'm so much more invested in oc/oc pairings than oc/npc pairings for some reason
- ALL my ocs are queer and/or trans unless stated otherwise. Assume all my ocs except for that blue-haired Ishgardian elf girl are POC, also
- I fucking LOVE Au Ra. Au Ra are the reason why I even picked up this game in the first place. Legend has it that Elio found out that Au Ra were not playable before FFXIV included HW in their free trial, so he snapped and bought the complete edition...
- I make a lot of NSFW content and talk about NSFW stuff from time to time ranging from talking about how I want my particular oc to be railed to actual, serious discussions about sexuality, gender and how we interact with fiction.
- Sometimes I'll speak in my native language. Sometimes I'll bungle my English. This is normal. English is not my first language
- I'm trying out roleplay after 34983242 years, feel free to hit me up any time!
- Sometimes I'll share what I come up with in the kitchen. I like to think I'm a real-life culinarian.

IMPORTANT

- Bigots are automatically blocked. You're not welcome here.
- Don't follow me if you heavily engage in ship/fandom discourse!!!!
- I am not "proship", nor am I an "anti". Let's get that out of the way first. I'm usually a "ship and let ship" person but it's more because I value peace. My block list on twitter has seen equal amounts of "proshippers" and "antis" at this point. If you're chill and also despise seeing the Discourse that gets rehashed every few months or so, we can interact. If not, the block button is there, please use it.
- That being said, I block anyone who actively makes content involving nsfw of the underaged characters in FFXIV; this is nothing personal. I just don't want to see that shit.
- I have no opinions about lewd lalafell content and I appreciate that you do not talk to me about it if I don't know you.
- All blocks are final and I will not rescind them for any reason. You have other things to worry about than the fact that some rando blocked you for personal reasons.

BACKSTORY

Born as one of a pair of twins to Maurice Bennett and Sayaka Ishinomori, Jacke was once known as ________ Lilliyana Bennett. Growing up, he had a relatively good and peaceful childhood alongside his twin Luna, and enjoyed a colorful experience walking the line that blurred the divide between rich and poor - for if you were Lominsan, it didn't matter how rich you were, you had humble beginnings just as everyone else, so there was no reason for one to be too proud of their standing in society. On his 14th summer, frustrated that he couldn't seem to grasp the finer points of goldsmithing, blacksmithing or weaving like his twin seemed to particularly excel in, Jacke learned about the profession of the adventurer during an annual trip to visit his mother's side of the family in Kugane. He grew invested in it, and also the art of the samurai; he began to train in the art under the tutelage of his uncle who had followed his family back to Limsa Lominsa. Before long, Jacke began establishing himself as a fledgling adventurer, often moonlighting behind more accomplished ones to learn the trade, as well as taking up odd jobs here and there. By the time he was 29 years old, Jacke was already considered a veteran adventurer to the Lominsan Adventurers' Guild.

Currently, Jacke is "on break" from his adventuring forays, taking his time to enjoy some down time while fully coming to terms with bearing the responsibility of inheriting the family business from his father, who wished to retire so he could fully dedicate himself to his rather eccentric work of coming up with wild inventions, ranging from the surprisingly functional to the... extremely tacky that one would have to wonder if the old Xaela was all right in the head. This meant that he was now - somewhat distressingly - required to attend social events, charity balls, and other associated gatherings that require him to mingle and socialize with people he had little to no similarity with. Wanting to find an escape from this rather overwhelming life, Jacke finds solace in certain venues where he could simply enjoy a drink or two and quietly spend time people-watching throughout the hours.Jacke is also finding himself being his twin brother Luna's model and muse; often ending up wearing new creations his brother comes up with.

APPEARANCE

Jacke is a Raen male that stands about 5'8 tall, with typical Raen features - until you notice the feminine horns that frame his face and the feminine scales that adorn his skin. When he transitioned via imbibing a weaker grade fantasia - one that's capable of changing one's appearance to an extent but cannot induce any drastic changes as a full grade fantasia does - he chose to keep his horns and scales, as a way to remember his now departed mother. His hair was originally white, as it runs in his family's genes, but Jacke chose to dye his blue as a personal preference more than anything. His eyes are an icy blue; they were the reason why some of his friends jokingly called him "Jacke Frost".Jacke has a fairly muscular build as a result of diligent training and experience in adventuring. Due to being half Xaela, there are also black scales specking white throughout his body, though they aren't always immediately visible.(Note: especially in game, you may see him with Demonic Horns on - these horns are modded on my side so I can view him with his Face 4 femra horns.)

PERSONALITY

Anyone who has ever known Jacke well enough over the years will tell you that he's a very quiet person - never really talks unless he either "feels like it", is addressed to (and responding only briefly), or you somehow managed to bring up a topic that he has a special interest in. Then you'd find him far more amenable to conversation. It was something that the Raen had been like all his life; his reluctance to talk is not because you aren't worth speaking to, but because he simply has trouble doing so.Despite his rather "cold" demeanor and serious attitude most of the time, Jacke is always good-natured and caring; oftentimes he would go out his way to assist or provide comfort and support to anyone who needs it. Being that he's usually quite nonverbal, his actions often end up speaking louder than his words, and that has made him some steadfast friends over the years. What he feels, Jacke feels quite strongly - anger can be manifested into rage and hurtful words, stress and sadness can blow into a full breakdown, joy can be expressed with a huge grin, unbridled laughter and excited wagging and curling of his tail. In fact, it's quite easy to tell if Jacke is happy or excited - if his tail is repeatedly curling, or wagging excitedly, that's a sure sign he's happy about something.

QUIRKS AND MANNERISMS

  • Jacke will usually pace about back and forth, muttering a whole host of things rapidly to himself when he's either working out things by himself, or simply anxious.

  • His tone when speaking tends to vary; on better times, he's able to speak well enough as normal. Sometimes his tone could be monotonous, especially if he's having a hard time.

  • Has a habit of biting his nails when agitated; his nails are fucked colossally because of this.

  • On times when he's nonverbal, he may choose to write what he wishes to say on a notepad instead.

  • Sometimes may be found bouncing his leg while sitting.

  • He can make eye contact; just not on certain times.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

If it wasn't clear already: Jacke is autistic. I try to ensure his portrayal is as accurate as I can manage, as I am operating on information gleaned from research and my own experience of (possible undiagnosed) autism and caring for an autistic sibling. Therefore there will be a lot of times where he may be nonverbal, be oblivious to some jokes, or simply may not be able to grasp the finer points of conversation. Be patient with him. He's really trying his best.

PRE-SUNDERING LIFE

When Etheirys was still a single star, in the peak of its days of Paradise, there was once a woman named Hecate. An esteemed member of the prestigious family known as the Night's Blessed, Hecate was a stoic, serious woman who dedicated her life studying all manner of magics, specializing specifically in the study of utilizing aether from surrounding life to heal and replenish a living being, and how this wellspring of aether can be returned to the world. (In a sense, Hecate is the one that came up with the concept of white magic). Being gifted with a remarkable aptitude for magic, as most members of the Night's Blessed were, helped her greatly along with her studies, securing her a place in Elpis where she coud devote most of her time continuing her research on her chosen field, while she waits until such a time came where she would take her brother Hades' place on the Convocation.

Yes, Hecate soon received word that the Convocation nominated her to be the next Emet-Selch after Hades, when his time came to return to the star and he had done all he had for the betterment of Eitherys, citing that her "contributions to the betterment of life will help immensely in the understanding of the underworld and souls". While she was honored to be able to fill in her dear brother's shoes, the news did not spark much joy in her; what Hecate had wished for was to follow in the footsteps of her other brother - to walk the breadth of the world as Azem. This longing to see the world outside of Amaurot only strengthened as she befriended her brother's mentor and friend, Venat. Hearing her stories of adventure, seeing the myriad cultures, learning the languages & ways of the people outside of Amaurot; it was all Hecate could do to not abscond into the night and see the world for herself.

EVENTS LEADING INTO THE FINAL DAYS

Before long, Hecate began to form more than just friendship with Venat. The kindness, compassion and hope that the gentle woman held not just for her family but for her fellow man had touched Hecate so deeply, especially when said kindness was directed to her. Venat had also shared the feelings toward Hecate; none save for her protege shared in her passion and love for life as keenly as Hecate did, and Hecate was the only one who seemed to share in her joys and sorrows, often lending her companionship whenever she could.Perhaps this fierce love she held for Venat was primarily the reason Hecate readily accepted Venat's warning of the Final Days that would befall the star. Though her account seemed too far-fetched to her logical mind, Hecate was not about to doubt her beloved so readily, especially as she saw how pained the woman seemed when she spoke of the matter, as if she held this burden alone. As if she was frightened of what would happen. In that moment, Hecate made a solemn vow to stand with Venat, no matter what. She promised Venat that she would do all in her power to find a way to stall or even stop the Final Days from happening altogether.

With newfound determination to see her new purpose to success, Hecate began to throw herself into her work with great vigor. She was one of the first to notice the thinning of the aether in certain places, and urged Azem to investigate these places to confirm these changes. When her brother returned with more than just confirmation - that terrible beasts have manifested from the ground to wreak havoc to the people living in them and causing untold suffering - Hecate realized that the Final Days were beginning to approach the star, just as Venat had predicted. Frantically Hecate threw herself into her work more, growing more and more desperate as she found that no matter how much she tried to get boundless aether to return to corrupted soil, it only fizzled and dissipated, as if it refused to return. It did not help things when the Convocation called for the summoning of Zodiark to save the star from doom, with her dearest sister Selene and her dearest friend Hythlodaeus being one of the first people who willingly gave their lives to Zodiark. As for her brother Nyx - the one that holds the seat of Azem - he had left in anger at the Convocation's refusal to render aid to the people outside of Amaurot, and she heard nothing from him since.

Bearing witness to the Final Days as it happened around them, Hecate had seen the destruction. The pain. The suffering. She saw her beloved brother Hades agonizing over the fates of the millions of people who now look to him to deliver them from doom. She saw her friends and family being devoured by beasts, some even turning into the terrible abominations thanks to their magic going haywire by corrupted aether. She saw her sister walk away from her, soon after handing her the sun-speckled crystal that was once their brother's, with a final message that she was to hold on to it.She saw Venat.Dearest Venat, the woman who loved the star and all life to whom she had the privilege of serving as the previous Azem. She watched as her beloved mourned for the life that was lost. Her resolve to continue believing that there will always be hope. And thus she bore witness as Venat raised her sword high."No more shall man have wings to bear him to paradise. Henceforth, he shall walk."

--- It felt as though millions of years had passed. She felt as though she was floating in a sea of nothingness. Light, and formless. Like a river flowing into the sea. In that vast nothingness Hecate remained, her first thoughts wondering what became of Venat. In that moment, she heard a voice in the distance, singing."Walk free, walk free..."Even in her stupor, Hecate recognized that voice. Willing herself to move, she reached out to the light where the voice was coming from, her hand (a hand?) reached forward, hoping to grasp whatever she could in that sea of nothingness.A warm hand grasped hers in return."My dearest Hecate...you found me."Hecate did not know if she could laugh or cry. But to behold Venat again, in a sea of everything and nothing, she could do all of those at once."I told you I would never abandon you."

EARLY LIFE

Jacke was born _______ Lilliyana Bennett, one of a pair of twin girls born to Maurice Bennett and Sayaka Ishinomori. Born to a rich family with a history of piracy and fortune, as most of the upper echelon of Limsa Lominsa were, Jacke enjoyed a colorful childhood walking the line that blurred the differences between rich and poor in the bustling thalassocracy; in Limsa Lominsa at least, every family has skeletons in the closet, there was no point flaunting your heritage when everyone came from humble beginnings, and your worth is measured only through your deeds.Despite his good childhood, surrounded by friends and a loving family that does their best to give their children all they could, Jacke was different - not just because his experiences of the world was different from what the other kids would experience, but in the sense that for as long as he could remember, he would experience the same dream. Dreams about floating in a glowing kaleidoscope of colors, ending with him flying across it to witness a giant crystal calling a name that wasn't his. The dreams were not distressing; in fact they were pleasant, and every time Jacke would feel as though he was going to be safe and sound.

While being born rich had its perks, Jacke was oftentimes reminded that the riches his family had would not last forever; both Maurice and Sayaka often instilled the idea to him and Luna that they should try and be independent; learn a trade, be business savvy, learn to be self-sufficient - all practical advice that Maurice in particular had firsthand experience in, growing up in a life of piracy as he did. Though Jacke did his best to heed this, he found himself having a harder time putting them into practice than Luna did. Luna, in all respects, was a better artisan, a better negotiator; Jacke found himself fumbling even in the most simple of conversations, and try as Jacke might, he could not even hold an awl correctly enough to craft a simple metal ring. Being unable to do the same things that his twin was outright flourishing in left Jacke a frustrated, overwhelmed teenager for a good part of his life. Coupled with the fact that his parents began to pick up these difficulties and started becoming overbearing towards him, sending him to one-to-one apprenticeships only for him to be returned citing "outright inability to perform even the simplest tasks", then followed by various trips to chiruregons, priests and even one of many trips to the Conjurer's Guild only exacerbated Jacke's frustrations further.

BECOMING AN ADVENTURER

It was Jacke's 14th summer when his family made a trip to Kugane, a special trip compared to their yearly spring vacations to visit his mother's side of the family. The Ishinomori family was to officiate a new line of jewelry meant to celebrate 100 years of their company, and the Bennetts were invited earlier on prior to the ceremony, for a huge family get together.Jacke was no stranger to Kugane, of course - he knew the city like the back of his hand, and was given plenty of leeway to explore the city with his cousins. During one of those excursions, over dango and tea, the cousins started talking about someone from "the West" setting up "leves" in the city for freelance adventurers and artisans to take up jobs with. This interested Jacke very much. He began asking so many questions, first to his cousins, and eventually to the people who have been setting up shop offering leves to any interested persons that passed by. From here he began learning about adventuring, and what adventurers do, and the subject intrigued him so much that even after they left Kugane, he could not stop thinking about it, nor the stories of glorious adventures across the world that some of the veteran adventurers he met had recounted to him.

It was also during this time that Jacke learned about the samurai of Hingashi, learning about it from the stories of other Ishinomori family members who were either members of the Sekiseigumi or samurai serving under some of the prestigious lords of Hingashi. He started asking if it was difficult to learn the art of the samurai, and was told that while it required much discipline and tenacity, anyone can learn it if they were dedicated enough.Though Jacke's parents did not want him to stay in Kugane, they did manage to have a family member follow them back to teach Jacke this art; a recently-widowed uncle named Tatsuya, who had - by some stroke of fortune, when Jacke thought back on it - at that time not only been an accomplished samurai in his own right, but was also an adventurer who recently took it up again after mourning long enough. Tatsuya's only son, Kiritsugu, also followed them back to Limsa Lominsa, as Tatsuya wanted to continue training him as well as instructing Jacke. Though the lessons were hard and oftentimes difficult, Jacke found that he had an affinity with it; being able to take his time clearing his mind as instructed, memorizing correct posturing and technique - holding the training bokuto in his hands felt better than holding some hammer or needle.

It would take a while before Limsa Lominsa had a proper Adventurers' Guild, so Jacke had been doing mostly odd jobs befitted a youngster like him together with Kiritsugu - simple tasks such as delivering missives, protecting crates from pests such as rats and giant ladybugs; occasionally they were given the opportunity to moonlight other established adventurers so they could watch the professionals at work. Nothing too dangerous, of course, or they would have to face the wrath of the entire Bennett and Ishinomori family if anything terrible befell them. His and Kiritsugu's eagerness to become adventurers themselves did not escape the notice of veteran sellsword Baderon Tenfingers, so when he finally established the Adventurers' Guild of Limsa Lominsa, Jacke and Kiritsugu were one of the first to be invited over to sign up with them as true adventurers on their 18th summer. For once, Jacke felt that he found a calling in his life - staying true to his parents' advice to find something to be proficient in, and to find a niche that would allow him to be self-sufficient, Jacke chose to become an adventurer, and dreams of travelling the world over and expanding his horizons. His training as a samurai under his uncle had also paid off extremely well, and by the same summer, Jacke was already a proficient swordsman.

It was on his 19th summer that the pleasant dreams Jacke had throughout his childhood began to take on a different form; this time, the voice that used to call his name now began uttering the words "Thou must live, die and know", followed by a meteor shower. Jacke did not understand what this meant, nor understood why the sight of the meteor shower drove him to tears. But it would be the first of many drastic changes that would prepare him for the major role that he would eventually play. His 19th year was a pivotal point in his life; aside from these dreams that had somehow granted him a peculiar ability to peer into a person's past. he had also found himself no longer feeling like the woman he thought he was. Jacke had thought he was a woman, but the more he grew, the more he felt disconnected with the experience of being a woman, often finding himself envious of his male friends and Kiritsugu. He eventually came out as a man, and sought to live his truth with the blessing of his parents. It was unfortunately also the same year his mother died, her ship capsizing en route to Kugane while she went on an excursion to negotiate supply chains with the Ishinomori company. Upon imbibing a weaker grade fantasia to transition, Jacke chose to keep his horns and scale patterns in honor of his mother who often reminded him of how beautiful he looked with them.

THE COMPANY OF HEROES, CARTENEAU AND THE VIITH UMBRAL CALAMITY

By Jacke's 21st summer, Tatsuya returned to Hingashi, while Kiritsugu parted ways with Jacke, promising to meet him again when they've made names for themselves. Jacke was already on his way to fame at that time - no more was he known to Lominsans as simply the heir of Bennett Industries; now when people speak of him, they refer to him as "Jacke, the adventurer".Luna himself had started to take great interest in adventuring, wanting a new experience. He had been studying arcanima on the side, and therefore on his 21st summer was already quite the accomplished arcanist. Jacke readily accepted Luna in as his adventuring partner, enjoying the added boon of Luna eagerly designing and making clothes that were functional as well as stylish. Maurice could not have been happier at the path his twin sons were taking, though he had to admit transitioning from raising two daughters to now watching over two sons had been an experience he likely wasn't going to forget.Jacke's talents were noticed by the Company of Heroes, and they offered him and Luna to be members of their band. At that point, the tale of the Company of Heroes besting the likes of Titan and Leviathan had been so renowned that the twins readily took the offer with great enthusiasm.

Their happiness, however, was short lived. On one assignment where their mission was to thwart another summoning of Leviathan, Jacke, Luna and their team had been accosted by the Serpent Reavers, and offered as sacrifices to Leviathan. In a last ditch effort to try and save everyone including Jacke, Luna broke free from his restraints and hurled himself in front of the group, getting the full brunt of a newly-summoned Leviathan seeking to make thralls out of them.A peculiar thing happened after that. Leviathan somehow, for most of the part, began screaming the names of the team members, bidding them to run and save themselves as he thrashed about and attacking Sahagin and Serpent Reavers instead. Jacke would not leave Luna behind, and when Leviathan was subdued, he made his break with Luna's unconscious body hoisted over his shoulders, with the enemy hot behind his heels. It was by sheer luck that he managed to meet the rest of the Company halfway and they helped him and Luna to safety.Jacke was not a fool. He knew what happens to people who fall under the thrall of primals. He begged for the Company to keep silent about Luna's fate, and with great difficulty he arranged for accommodation to keep Luna safe somewhere, away from Limsa Lominsa.

The experience had left Jacke a changed man forever. He was no longer interested in adventuring or making a life for himself; so entrenched in guilt he was for failing to protect Luna that he threw himself entirely to the efforts of finding a cure for enthrallment. To this end, he employed the best mages he could think of, trying to find a way to rescue Luna from a terrible fate. And every time, he failed. It wasn't long before Jacke fell into despair, wondering if life was worth living if he couldn't even save his own brother. The dreams haunted him. Every time he hears the words "thou must live, die and know", he lashed out, screaming at the voice for making him powerless. Now the dreams began showing a red moon descending, growing ever closer and threatening to destroy everything in its wake.Jacke did not understand what it all meant, which was all the more frustrating for him.It wasn't long before Limsa Lominsa began to prepare for war; the Garlean forces were preparing an all-out assault on Eorzea, and every able man and woman enlisted to join in the battle, and these included no small amount of adventurers.Jacke had nothing more to lose. Against his father's pleas, he enlisted himself, fully preparing to die if it came to it.

He fought under the banner of the adventurers, fighting alongside the Eorzean Alliance with ferocity, seeking at that time only to die - if he was going to die here, he wanted to die where it at least mattered, and he didn't care how. Jacke was there to bear witness to Dalamud's fall. He saw the terrible primal Bahamut break free from the lesser moon and caused havoc all over Eorzea. He saw Louisoix perform the summoning to contain Bahamut, with the prayers of the people across Eorzea on his side.No more shall man have wings to bear him to paradise. Henceforth, he shall walk.A blinding light followed after. And after that, nothing.Jacke woke up in his room a few days after, as if awake from a long and harrowing dream. He was visited by a relieved Maurice and his cousin Kiritsugu, and asked what happened. Jacke was told the war was over, the Garlean forces were defeated - but how it happened, they could not seem to remember. In fact, they couldn't even remember how Jacke returned to them. Jacke struggled to even remember the events that took place; each time he tried to, all of it became hazy, the faces a blur.He did remember a voice, however. Clear as day, it bade him:

Thy Life is a riddle, to bear rapture and sorrow,
To listen, to suffer, to entrust unto tomorrow. »

HEAR.

For a mercy, Jacke did not forget about Luna, nor did he forget about his mission. With renewed vigor, he went back to adventuring, this time to continue looking for a way to cure primal enthrallment, and to administer it himself if need be. His travels took him far and wide; he had ventured to Ishgard, where he briefly settled in as he took up the art of the Dark Knight from a Xaela named Sidurgu, who had been a helpful companion as he ventured into the abandoned Great Gubal Library for his search for a cure for tempering. After that, his travels took him to Ala Mhigo, and to Kugane and beyond it - he had stepped foot in the Azim Steppe (and reconnected with his Oroniri roots), he had stopped to aid Doma in restoring itself after being liberated from Garlean occupation, and looked to doing the same for Ala Mhigo as well.He found himself a little amused noting that his travels often seemed to follow in the wake of the Warrior of Light. Everywhere the Warrior of Light made his mark, it seemed to lead him along as well. Though at that point, he thought nothing of it, only thinking it mere coincidence, but a welcome one at that.

Everywhere Jacke went, he would inevitably hear stories of how the Warrior of Light and his friends had impacted the lives of the people for good. Sidurgu often talked about how the Warrior of Light had helped him and Rielle at a critical point in life; Count Edmont would regale tales of his heroism to Jacke over tea; the Ala Mhigans of Ala Ghanna would excitedly recount on how knowledgeable the man was in medicinal teas and animal rearing; the Domans proudly talk of how the hero was also a son of Doma. Jacke could not help but admire this mysterious man that Eorzea and beyond hold so much reverence & admiration over, and made it a point to meet him and his friends one day.It was also during this time that Jacke began hearing things: hushed whispers among experts on how the aetheric density on certain places seemed to be thinning, on how the Scions of the Seventh Dawn were now in a coma, that the Warrior of Light had disappeared. Some said he was in another world altogether, fighting unknown forces that would also determine the fate of their world.

FEEL.

It was an unassuming day when Jacke had visited Limsa Lominsa to visit his father and check up on Luna, who he had deemed safe to transfer back to the city so Maurice could better watch over the still comatose man. As he hung out at the Aftcastle, reflecting on how much his efforts had met a dead end again, he glanced upwards, and caught sight of a young Elezen girl, an unassuming Miqo'te man, an elegant Miqo'te woman, and a towering, fumbling figure of an Auri man with a missing horn, talking to and surrounding a young kobold.Jacke perked up when he heard the words "tempering" and "cure". The kobold exhibited the same characteristics that Luna had shown - dazed and silent, as if so lost in thought that they would not respond to the world around them. Before he knew what he was doing, Jacke got up, and quickly approached the group."You know how to cure the effects of tempering? Then please... help me."

Jacke waited, with abated breath, waiting outside Luna's room with Nix and Y'shtola while Alisaie and G'raha administered their cure onto Luna. So many thoughts raced in his mind - what if it wouldn't work? What if Luna was too far gone to be saved? When Alisaie and G'raha emerged, he could not help but rush to them."Did it work?" Jacke asked urgently. The duo looked tired, but Alisaie smiled at him, and held his hand."Come and see for yourself."Jacke did not know what to expect, but he entered anyway following Alisaie's lead. The sight that greeted him left Jacke stunned. He could not contain the tears that fell freely from his face, nor could he help but rush forward for a relieved embrace, not especially when the figure before him turned from the window to greet him with a bright smile."Don't cry, Jackie," said Luna. "I'm here now."

THINK.

Jacke had not dreamed those dreams for a long time. He understood now that the voice was Hydaelyn's voice; that She had chosen him to bear Her gift. But to what ends, Jacke was unable to decipher. He wondered why the dreams had ceased, why he couldn't hear Her voice. Then one night, he started having visions. An age long past, seen through the eyes of a person whose life he did not know. A vision of what seemed like paradise, teeming with life abundant. Faces that he had never seen until then, but the names of whom he remembered so clearly.Hades. Hythlodaeus. Selene.Nyx.He saw the face of a woman, with hair white as snow and eyes a piercing, brilliant blue. Her arm outstretched to his, warm and loving.Hecate.All of a sudden, a flurry of memories rushed through Jacke's vision; he saw the Final Days, the Sundering, he experienced the endless floating in the kaleidoscopic sea that he remembered from his childhood, then the vision of a warm hand holding his once again. It is time, Hecate.

Jacke woke up the next day, but he was no longer the same person he was. He remembered everything; his past life, the lives he had once lived, his promise to Venat, long ago.Or rather, he remembered her promise. The morning when they were embarking for Old Sharlayan, Jacke woke up earlier than the others, and went up to get some fresh air, and found Nix alone, gazing at the mists ahead. Perfect."A word, Nix?"The Warrior of Light turned to him. "Aye, yer up early, Jacke. What's up?"Jacke stood next to him, taking in the fresh, salty air. "You were chosen by Hydaelyn to be Her Champion, yes?"Nix nodded. "Aye, that She does.""Will you believe me if I tell you about myself? Why I joined you in this effort to stop the Final Days?"Nix pondered for a moment. "Aye," he said, with conviction. Jacke smiled, turning to look at him."I am Hecate. And it is my duty, in Hydaelyn's name, to watch over and protect you."

In the same fleeting moment, thou must live, die and know. »

THE SONG OF HOPE.

Bearing the divine directive of Hecate, as with all his shards and past lives before him, Jacke proved himself to be a stalwart and brave guardian to Nix and a valuable companion to the Scions. Determined to see the journey to the end, Jacke remains steadfast, standing by Nix's side at all times as though he had been with him since the beginning. As Hecate, he too possesses the unique capabilities afforded to him by the Echo, but with her full memories and with it her unique abilities to utilize the surrounding aetheric energies around him to heal and damage as needed.

hooks

Please note: some of these hooks only apply should you decide you'd like to interact with the lore version. Lore version hooks will be marked with ★. ERP-friendly hooks will be marked with ♥ and apply to both lore/roleplay versions.

- You've heard his name before; "Jacke Bennett, heir of Bennett Industries". What you assumed would be a stuck-up noble snob turns out to be the quietest young man you've ever met. Over a drink in the silent corner of the establishment, what secrets will you discover from him?★ An alluring voice caught your attention; like a siren's song, you are drawn to it, and at the end of your search you see him: a lone dark knight with eyes that have seen a thousand lives. What song does he sing, and why is it filled with so much regret?- "Emmie?" you ask. It may have been years since you've seen her him, but underneath the stark change of his appearance, you still recognize the Raen as the small, quiet maiden he once was."It's Jacke now," he says. "No one's called me Emmie for years."★ (for Lominsan characters) You know his face. He was one of a pair of two, but now he's alone. Ask him where his twin is, and see how he reacts.

♥ This silent Raen looks extremely out of place in such an alluring venue; where pleasure reigns supreme, he seems rather content being alone. But as those clear blue eyes took one glance at you before turning away, you know - he's interested, but he may be too shy to open. Perhaps a friendly hello could melt the ice between you...♥ You're surprised to see such a recognizable face in the bar at this hour; you know there's a grand party happening, and the people are raving about how "the Bennett twins" are expected to make their appearance there. But here's one of them, wordlessly drinking his wine and trying very hard to make himself disappear. "Playing Cinderella tonight?" you'd ask."I hate grand parties," he retorted. "I feel very out of place in them." Seems he prefers humbler company. What will you talk about?- He's reading something, and you can't help but notice his tail curling and coiling at rather frequent intervals. Must've been quite the good book, and you're curious to find out what it is...
